  • I like the Mac version of rhino way better than the windows version. The interface is a lot nicer, and there's a nice toolbar on the side that really walks you through everything as you use it.
  • Rhino has GREAT translators which means it can import/export data from really just about everything, and it's surface tools are top notch. In the end it's about what you can use the most efficiently, or what your company requires you to use.

I was running Cobalt on my mid-2012 macbook pro. it has quad core i7 intel and 8 gb ram. I ran into issues with Cobalt taking an hour to compute an operation and had issues with getting sufficient tech support. That's when I looked into Rhino and running it on bootcamp. Parallels desktop for mac business edition crack. I was initially hesitant because of my experience before running it in Parallels. But seems that everyone raves that it runs great in Bootcamp. my question is - I did run into about 5 minute delays when I was doing some extrudes, some boolean differences, some flow along surface commands. The activity monitor showed that the computer was at 100% cpu usage for Rhino at this time, after running the command.

I called techsupport but they said that the best way to get feedback was to ask the community. Do you recommend that I max out the ram from 8gb to 16 gb? Will this help? Will my quad core processor be sufficient? My office also has a quad core PC tower I could use..the specs are about the same as my laptop. I'd love to stay portable if possible. Anyone have any recommendations? Our tech team here thought that maybe I needed the 12 core tower of a Mac Pro but I don't really do rendering or any animations. I'm basically just doing CAD. But some surfacing and texture features that I work on are pretty math intensive..please give me your suggestions.
